Open Access vs Premium

Portal Open Access (iOS & iPadOS)

Our mission is to make relaxing, inspiring and imagination-sparking surroundings, and the benefits they can bring to people's lives, accessible to all. With the average person spending 90% of their time in indoor environments, it's become increasingly easy to lose our connection with natural surroundings where we tend to think, feel and act our best.

It’s why we launched our Open Access programme, which makes a selection of our portals available for free - no ads, no usage or time limits.

When you first download Portal on your iPhone or iPad, you'll immediately have access to a selection of free portals and all of our standard features such as our sleep timers, pomodoro focus timers, meditation timers, breathing exercises, virtual sunrise wakeup alarm and our mix audio functionality, which allows you to combine Portal's audio with your favourite podcast, audiobook, playlist or meditation.

To keep data costs manageable whilst still providing free access to everyone that can benefit from Portal - the visual and audio quality of our free portals may not be at the same high quality as our Premium portals, but we think they're still pretty good.

Portal Premium

Our Premium Membership provides access to our entire Library of over 80 portals from around the world, including on-going access to all new portals that we introduce as well as cross-platform support (iPhone, iPad & Mac).

And from an experience perspective, our Premium offering provides our most immersive and true-to-life experience. With each of our Premium portals you'll enjoy enhanced retina quality visuals and immersive spatial audio quality, as well as access to our smart lighting support which allows you to sync Portal with Philips Hue, HomeKit & Nanoleaf smart lights to match the lighting and hue of each destination and also utilise our virtual sunrise alarm.

And last but certainly not least, if you have a pair of AirPods (3rd gen), AirPods Pro, AirPods Max or Beats Fit Pro you'll be able to experience Dynamic (head tracked) Spatial Audio. We use the gyroscopes and accelerometers in these earphones to virtually anchor the soundscape around you, whilst tracking your head movement. Unlike a traditional audio experience, as your head moves the whole scene will remain in place, just like in real life - we like to think that it's an auditory experience that's as close to your ears actually being there as you can get!

If you haven't done so already, we'd highly recommend trying our 7-day free Premium trial to experience it yourself. Just enter the Library (swipe down on your screen) and tap on the gold banner.
